Sanctuary office targeted for closure in Upper Keys

The Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary’s Upper Keys office is on the chopping block, according to a U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) list of almost 750 pending federal facility lease terminations totaling 9.5 million square feet and about $660 million in projected savings.

Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary operates from locations in the Upper and Lower Keys. The two-story Upper Keys office is located at Mile Marker 95, bayside, and features workspace for the maintenance of Sanctuary vessels.
