great-white-shark

Columnist C.J. Geotis has a new goal for 2025: to see a great white shark up-close and personal.

Well, well, well. We made it through another year. I’m happy to have 2024 safely in my back pocket. No escaping allowed. Loretta tells me each year, “Every year, you forget that winter is not a good time for you.” Sure. I wish it were warmer outside right now. And finding a week-long period of flat seas, with no wind was nowhere to be found for the last several months. Most of my fishing buddies agree this was not one of our favorite years whenever the topic comes up. I hate to think of it as mass grouchiness, but unfortunately, those are the attitudes we all share right now.

The good thing about all this, if any, is we all know that nature is cyclic. We understand multispecies fishing trips are on the way. What I wouldn’t do to hook a big, bull mahi mahi today. This leaves me thinking about “the good old times.” Does this mean I’m getting old? Dad would tell me that the older I got, the faster time would go by. There’s another piece of good news.
