Three consecutive seasons now, both of the Key West High track and field teams have been on the podium at the District 16-2A Championships, a feat that had only been accomplished twice before in school history, prior to the current streak, as on Tuesday, April 22, the Conchs wrapped up a pair of runner-up honors at Tropical Park in Miami.

The Lady Conchs, who have been the district runner-ups the last two seasons, had the team title in grasp, but could not take the lead against host Gulliver Prep, which claimed the championship hardware with 236 points to Key West’s 220. The Conch boys, which had its two-year run at district champs come to an end, also could not overcome the Raiders, who swept the titles with 195 points, while Key West finished with 148.
